City Council member gets racist letter; Sayles Belton wants `rigorous' FBI probe.(NEWS)

Minneapolis City Council Member Brian Herron received an anonymous threatening, racist letter, which he turned over to the FBI.

The letter, printed on Minneapolis police stationery and signed "KKK Kops," arrived in the mail at Herron's office in City Hall on Tuesday with a Minneapolis postmark.

Herron, who is black, declined to discuss the letter or disclose its contents. "I did get a letter," he said Thursday. "I don't want to make any comments about it."

However, the Star Tribune obtained a copy of the letter and the envelope in which it was sent. The letter was hand-printed in childlike scrawl on paper with the letterhead, "Minneapolis Police Department ...
